Fall in Florida is often just extended summer. We experienced a cool spell just before Halloween and we’ll likely get hit with another cold snap in time for Thanksgiving. I’m always grateful for the brief reprieve from the heat. Still, I try not to get my hopes up that it will last, because Florida usually experiences a summery Christmas season!
With Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the cool weather, pumpkin spice lattes, and the ability to wear a few cute sweaters.
Since we don’t experience true seasons in Florida, I experience much of Fall vicariously through images on Instagram, the internet, and other social media sites. Books are a wonderful tool to teach the kids about the changes of the seasons and all about Thanksgiving.
I always start reading to my children when they’re babies, so I amass tons of books, especially on subjects that are more difficult to explain in real life, like seasonal changes and emotions.
When I really take a good look at Thanksgiving, I’m certain my kids would only think of Thanksgiving as a large gathering of family with a ton of food that should feed an army. If it weren’t for books and school, that’s probably all they’d ever associate with Thanksgiving.
I like a variety of books to explain a single subject, because you never know what book will grab your child’s attention. That’s why I rounded up this list of 30 Thanksgiving board books for Toddlers. You’re sure to find a few that will grab your little one’s attention and help them understand the full meaning of the Thanksgiving traditions!
